License-agreementOttawa-based Interset announced recently it has entered the Intel Security Innovation Alliance partner program. Interset will integrate its Interset Advanced Threat Detection Platform with McAfee Enterprise Security Manager (ESM). The combined solutions will enable customers to rapidly surface anomalous activities that define advanced cyber threats, apply accurate risk scoring, and deliver the contextual information needed to mitigate these threats.

Kinaxis announced recently it had reached a deal with Ixia that will see the network testing, visibility and security solution provider use Kinaxis’RapidResponce software for its supply chain planning system of record. Ixia will use RapidResponse to assist in managing increasing supply chain complexity as well as demand and supply volatility.

Ciena announced recently it has acquired the high-speed photonics components division of Quebec City’s TeraXion in a $CA46.6-million deal. The acquisition is expected to bolster Ciena’s R&D Centre of Excellence in Kanata.

Exit Realty recently awarded subfranchisor rights to Albert (AJ) Plant and Vincent Detillieux. Mr. Plant has been with the EXIT Realty organization as a top-producing agent and office manager since 2004. A featured speaker at EXIT Realty Corp. International’s 2014 Annual Convention, he has trained real estate agents in the Quebec market as well as in offices across Ontario. Mr. Detillieux has been involved with start-up companies and charitable organizations throughout the region. He is a specialist in business strategy while focusing on value-driven opportunities that put people first.

North Star Innovations, a subsidiary of WiLAN recently entered into a patent license agreement with GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc., which provides foundry and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) products and services.

Advanced Microscopy, another subsidiary of WiLAN, recently entered a license agreement with FEI Company on technology that enhances image processing capabilities. The agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the District of Delaware.

Advanced Microscopy has also recently entered a license agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific, relating to technology that provides enhanced image processing capabilities. The license resolved litigation pending in the District of Delaware.

Polaris Innovations Ltd., another subsidiary of WiLAN, recently announced it had entered a patent license agreement with GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc., for patents related to processes used in its foundry services and patents related to application-specific integrated circuit products. The licensed patents are part of the Qimonda portfolio, which was acquired by WiLAN in June 2015 from Infineon Technologies AG. Terms of the deal were not released.

Neptec recently was awarded a $1.7-million federal government contract to develop a monitoring system to help astronauts examine the International Space Station for issues that may require immediate repair.

ExitCertified, an Ottawa-based a certified IT training provider, announced recently it had been acquired by Avnet Inc. Its portfolio is expected to complement the training services already provided by Phoenix-based Avnet through its Avnet Academy.
