Three major giants of America – Boeing, General Electric and Honeywell – decided to jointly support changes to the Indian patent system. On the opposing end are American majors in the field of pharmacology and software development. One of the main stumbling blocks in the discussion between the opponents is a decision of the Indian Government concerning compulsory licensing. The expert trio put emphasis on the fact that, for developing countries, in some cases, such decisions can be vital.
