The FBI has started an investigation into the public warning from private security company “Flashpoint”, published on March 3rd, about the danger of an unauthorized access to classified information about leading American law and brokerage companies.

Someone from Ukraine, hiding under the nickname Oleras, has already tried to hire people to hack into the storage of private information of law and brokerage companies. Moreover, he has already published the list of victims in which he is most interested. This list of potential victims includes such giants as Kirkland & Ellis L.L.P. and Sidley Austin L.L.P.

The main target of the Ukrainian broker, as he writes on the closed hacker forum, are the drafts of license and patent agreements, patent documentation, drafts of merger agreements and so on. Oleras proposes to share half of the loot with their sidekicks after the million-dollar mark.
